XXI. Carpathian Basin Environmental Science Conference

September 2–4, 2026, Baja, Hungary

The conference

The AIM OF THE CONFERENCE to present the latest results of environmental research conducted in the Carpathian Basin, as well as to discuss theoretical and practical problems. The conference provides an opportunity for professional cooperation, discussion of participation in joint research proposals, and not least, for Hungarian students from both Hungary and abroad to practice giving presentations in English. The conference also aims to emphasize environmental awareness, environmental education, and the importance of applying research results.

FIELDS OF THE CONFERENCE: Environmental physics, environmental chemistry, ecology, environmental geography, environmental geology, built environment and spatial planning, waste management, alternative energies, environmental economics, agro-environmental sciences, engineering in environmental protection, international and EU environmental policy, environmental education, Environmental Sciences and Studies in English.

The registration fee for presenters, participants, students, and PhD candidates covers the costs of the official conference publication, the conference folder, refreshments, as well as participation in the welcome reception, lunches, and the gala dinner. For accompanying persons, the registration fee includes participation in the welcome reception, lunches, and the gala dinner.

Please note that registration fees (which are considered as support for the conference) are non-refundable.

Abstracts

Abstracts should be submitted in both Hungarian and English as Word documents (.doc or .docx format), using Times New Roman 12 pt font and single line spacing. The body of the text should not exceed 250 words. The title must be in bold capital letters, followed—after skipping one line—by the author(s) surname and first name, affiliation (workplace) with its full address, and email address. Please include keywords (maximum of 5) in a separate line.

Papers

“Following the conference, selected papers will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Environmental Geography.

Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the author guidelines available on the journal’s website. The deadline for uploading manuscripts is May 15, 2026.
